Because I’ve been a bit of a Debbie Downer recently, and I’m sure that gets old…

Things I am thankful for:
  • My superstellar roommate who cooks for me, cleans for me, brings me things, turns on TVs and lights and music for me, all without saying a thing.
  • The two dollar bills I have in my wallet that have covered taxi cabs and sushi delivery man tips
  • That I can touch my toes easily, which allows me to paint my toes, put on my pants, shave my legs and scratch my feet while still unable to bend my leg
  • That I have (barely) enough dresses to last a week or so without repeating, since I can’t wear pants with this knee brace
  • That my grandpa is willing to write me prescriptions for strong pain medicine since sleeping isn’t high on the list of things I can easily do

Things that suck (because let’s face it, the glass is half empty):

  • I’ll be in this knee brace until September 15ish…I move into my apartment in Evanston on September 9.
  • I won’t be able to drive probably until a week or two after that.
  • My leg is itchy, my foot is constantly cold and my knee brace is falling apart.
